Why we exist // theHOUSE Week 1
last night we started a two week mini series on “WHY WE EXIST”. we took a look at our mission statement…
theHOUSE Student Ministries exist to REACH students in the bay area, CONNECT them with other Christians, to help themGROW in their faith and SERVE in their ministry, all to HONOR God with their life.
…and discussed two of our five biblical purposes: HONOR and CONNECT and read through matthew 22:37-40 about LOVING GOD and LOVING OTHERS.
HONOR // worship // whatever you give worth to.
…’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37
the greatest thing Jesus told us was to LOVE GOD. Christianity is about being in relationship with the living God who created us. like it says in romans 12:1, our aim is to have everything we do point back to God.
CONNECT // fellowship // we were meant to live life together, with others.
…’Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:39
in the same breath, Jesus told us to LOVE OTHERS. we can’t be Christians and never talk to anyone. our aim for theHOUSE is to have that aspect of community in any gathering we have.
