the fathers will

from Albert’s blog, sixminutesofbanter.com..

so i was reading through john 19, which is the chapter the describes the sentencing and crucification of Jesus. and most times, we read that chapter for that bit of info. yes, this is crucial, but its also not the only theme being worked out in john 19. one very key area, that is often overlooked by the crucification account, is why Jesus never lifts a finger to stop any of this. in fact, he provokes them!

Jesus is the kind of man who pokes at a bees hive!

but, he doesnt do it for kicks and giggles, he is doing all that for a reason. his undying commitment to the fathers will.

he will not deviate.

he know what the fathers will is, and he is going to do everything he does because of that. because of his love for his father. that is an example worth living. Jesus loved his father so much he died, God loves us so much that he sent his son in the first place, where does that leave us?

well, God loves us…

duh!

but if God has the kind of love for us, what kind of love are we showing back to God? romans says everything we do is a spritual act of worship. so the question is… what or who are you worshiping? God has a huge love for you and me, are we reciprocating? probably not as best as could.

no guilt trip intented…

this is simply an opportunity for you and i to take a second, reflect on God’s love for us, and do something about it today!

be on the lookout.

today.

God loves you, and me. let’s show it!
