Don’t be afraid!

Fear!  Sometimes, when we realize there is a big issue, a new venture, or a change about to happen in our life, fear can start to creep in.  We need to know the source of this fear and know that greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world.

As this year concludes and a new one begins, my words for you are the same as that of the angel messenger on that first Christmas Eve… “don’t be afraid!”  God has a wonderful plan for you that will be revealed one day at a time as you move forward into it.  God is in the business of strategically positioning us in the right place at the right time. He is very good at getting us where He wants us to be!   Jeremiah 29:11 promises us:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Don’t be overly concerned with worldly evidence; it can cause fear and ultimately move us away from Gods plan.  Here’s a thought from one of my favorite books; “What if the life you really want and the future God has for you is hiding, right now, in your biggest problem, your worst failure, or your greatest fear”. Learn to live in a new reality - the one that God will create for you as you put your trust in him.  Pray for wisdom, revelation and for the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Then obey when you learn your next step.

He will never leave you nor forsake you… but you won’t experience the fullness of all His miracles until you step out.  The title of one of John Ortberg’s books comes to mind:  “If you want to walk on water, you’ve got to get out of the boat”.

Join me in 2009, in making a commitment to pray and obey, pray and obey.

Have a great Christmas holiday!
